I'm going to need a new gun safe.

As promised in the post below, as a statement in response to the Democrat takeover of Congress, I went out and bought a new rifle. I have to admit that it's not the rifle I had mentioned before (the GA Precision bolt action rifle). I was about to buy one of their rifles when I saw a listing on a tactical weapons website offering the weapon of my dreams for sale.

Without further ado, here is what I bought.

(this is the picture from the for sale listing, I do not have the rifle in my hands yet due to CA's waiting period).

Here's the description from the seller:

M1A DM rifle, bedding in McMillan comb adjustable stock by GA Precision.

Started life as Loaded M1a then was sent to GA to turn into DM rifle. Bedded in McMillan DM comb adjustable stock.

Excellent condition and excellent shooter. Low round count.

I've been buying up accessories for this and will soon buy a scope and rings (though I'm still figuring out that one).

A range report will follow.

In other news, and on the topic of the Democrats taking Congress, I saw this for sale on CafePress.

It's not the most refined photoshop job ever, but I appreciate the sentiment. After six years of the libtards screaming "NOT MY PRESIDENT" I think this is a nice turn of the slogan. The entire store full of items with this slogan is available here.

Keep your guard up if there is a changing of the guard

As we all know, on November 7, we will have an election that will, if the polls are to be believed, usher in a changing of the guard in Congress. Most polls show the Democrats taking control of the House of Representatives and some polls show all of Congress going to the Democrats.

While I'll reserve comment on whether the polls should be believed, I think this presents a perfect opportunity for Americans to make a statement. On November 8, I intend to finally place my order for the custom built tactical rifle that I've mentioned in other posts (and that Affe spends much time harassing me over).

What better way to greet a new Congress, one that likely will have an anti-gun agenda, than with a massive number of weapons purchased by Americans? It works on so many levels. It says "we support the weapons industry". It says "we reiterate our Second Amendment rights." And, of course, it says "if you left wing lunatics try to take away our rights, you won't be facing a passive group of victims."

So I will be calling GA Precision on November 8 to place that order. I encourage all of my loyal readers to either buy a weapon, buy some ammo or even apply for a C&R license.

I'm a fan of the C&R license, as it not only makes buying old military firearms much easier, it gives homes to some really cool rifles and pistols that would otherwise have gone to the scrap metal heap.

And, of course, if the Republicans hold of the Democrats on November 8, buy a gun to celebrate!
