I'm just wondering when someone is going to treat Jews like Muslims. Right now there are protests around the world against Israel's defensive military action in occupied Gaza and without exception you will find the protesters attacking (verbally, though sometimes physically as well) Jews as part of the protests.
After the 9/11 terror attacks we were told that we must not condemn Islam and Muslims when we express our anger at the acts of terror. The government bent over backwards to call Islam a "religion of peace" and the media went so far as to embark on a multi-year, gratis public relations campaign to put a positive face on Islam and Muslims (see, e.g., the New York Times).
So I'm just waiting for all of these entities to condemn anyone who would say negative things about Jews in connection with protests against Israel.
I'm going to not hold my breath...

Simple, because if you "offend" jews they do not threaten to kill you and all your family.
I would say it's because the Jews have always been successful in a system that the left hates, capitalism. They seek education, become productive wherever they find themselves and live well within a few years of being mere immigrants, and they do it again and again.
They learned from the Holocaust that victimhood would not earn them the sympathy of those who would have rushed to the aid of any other groups, and resolved never to be victims again. And liberals, including far too many Jews, despise anybody whom they can't patronize.
what are you on about the media portrays muslims as violent extremists!and the muslims that verbally abuse jews are the uneducated ones, that dont know the difference between jews and zionists.
Deena, all practicing Jews are Zionists. We pray for the restoration of Zion, the preservation of Israel, every day. And as far as how the MSM portrays Muslims, very few news agencies will even use the word "terrorist" - they use the word "militant". When I was growing up, that was a woman who burned her bra. All terrorists should be "militants" of that sort.
also, just a remineder that gaza isnt occupied. israel left gaza in 2005. this type of knee jerk semantics should be avoided.
Anonymous, the reference to occupied Gaza was in relation to Hamas' occupation of Gaza. Gaza is a biblical Jewish land, not an Islamic land.
